Nose
Oodles of plummy richness, oily walnut, butterscotch and espresso coffee. Lots of wine influence, raspberries, blackberry syrup, kirsch, demerera sugar, leather, a bit of earth, cocoa, fermented black tea.
Palate
Dark, stewed fruits, cinnamon and brown sugar initially, with vanilla extract and diced almond-topped pastries emerging over time. Medium thick mouthfeel, sweet, syrupy, winey, grapes, raspberries, cherries, brown sugar, caramel, cocoa, a bit of maple syrup.
Finish
Lingering chocolatey elements remain. Medium finish, drying, tannic, somewhat bitter, leather, earth, peppery.
