Description
The Dalmore King Alexander III is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, renowned for its unique six-cask maturation process. This expression is a tribute to the historical event in 1263 when an ancestor of the Clan Mackenzie saved King Alexander III from a charging stag, an event commemorated by the royal stag emblem on every bottle. Crafted by Master Distiller Richard Paterson, the whisky is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being apportioned into Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks, Madeira casks, Marsala casks, Port pipes, and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. These six different cask types are then expertly married to create a rich, complex, and layered flavor profile.
