Description
Dalmore distillery was used as a deep-sea mine production centre by the Royal Navy between 1917 and 1920. After the navy departed, the distillery was left in tatters, and - after a long compensation battle involving the House of Lords - the distillery was brought back online in 1922. Now Dalmore, under the stewardship of Richard Paterson, presents itself as a luxury brand with a history of wealthy. This 18 year old single malt was distilled in 1998 and aged in ex-bourbon casks before being moved over to rare aged Tawny Port pipes for its final two years of maturation. It was released in mid-2017 as part of a trio of vintage releases.
