Description

One of Scotland's most modern malt distilleries, constructed by Chivas Brothers in 2014. It stands on the site of the former Imperial distillery in Speyside (dismantled the year prior), and is named after a water pool in the local area. Initial maturation in American Oak, with a Madeira Cask Finish. This is a single cask release, bottled in 2020, and limited to 300 bottles.

Nose
Extremely fruity and grape aromas, some wood and a creamy, soft malt tone.
Palate
Powerful fruit, outstanding onset of soft Madeira notes, then malt, some ginger. With water, more vanilla and butterscotch aromas come to the fore, the grape load of the Madeira recedes.
Finish
Lingering notes of vanilla and butterscotch, with a receding Madeira grape influence.
