Description

This 6-year-old named The Wulver was the inaugural release in the Mythical Creatures series and was bottled as an exclusive to The Whisky Exchange. The Wulver is a wolf-like humanoid creature known in Scottish folklore in the Shetland Islands. One of Scotland's most modern malt distilleries, constructed by Chivas Brothers in 2014. It stands on the site of the former Imperial distillery in Speyside. This vibrant whisky reveals a distillery character rich in orchard and stone fruits.

Nose
Bright and grassy with crisp green apple and pear, alongside notes of icing sugar, vanilla fudge, marshmallow, white chocolate, cocoa powder, lemon zest, and freshly cut grass. Underlying malty quality, with hints of candied lemon, apricots, nectarines, sweet pastry, vanilla custard, and nutty biscuits.
Palate
Viscous and sweet, with peaches, red apples, white pepper, honey, and barley sugar. Vanilla-forward with cotton candy, peanut skins, and cloves. Notes of marzipan, mocha, toasted hazelnuts, and grainy undertones. Tangy green apple boiled sweets, brown butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloudy lemonade, and warm pastry.
Finish
Medium to long, with a kick of white pepper and light oak spice. Lingering notes of pear, citrus, and nutty elements. Herbal and vegetal notes of cut grass, with hints of craft lager, candied lemon peel, baked apple, and ginger cake.
