Description

This is the first release of Dalwhinnie's Distillers Edition, distilled in 1980. Launched in 1996/1997 as part of Diageo's 'Classic Malts' range, this limited release undergoes double maturation, enhanced in carefully chosen Oloroso sherry casks. Sweet, with heather pollen, heather honey, and moorland scents. Malty, with milky coffee, toasted cereals, apricot, peach, mango, overripe banana, and pineapples.
Palate
Soft, smooth, and oily. Sweet with bold malts, coffee, milk-drenched breakfast cereal, apples, peaches, pineapples, and honeyed sweetness. A hint of bitterness and spice.
Finish
Long and warming, with tropical fruits, toffee sweetness, and increasing bitterness and wood.
