After working at the Bruichladdich distillery in 2009, founder Greg Millar dreamed of having his own distillery. He needed to find the right location for his distillery and found it in Devon. The climate and soil was perfect for growing quality barley, along with the excellent air quality and sea breeze that gave good storage during maturation. With the help of Simon Crow, his dream became real. Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, located in Bovey Tracey, Devon, produces English Single Malt Whisky using local barley and Dartmoor spring water. Their single-malt, single-cask whisky is distilled in a beautiful ex-Cognac still from 1966. Master Distiller Frank McHardy oversees production. This particular release, Cask #2, is part of their First Distillation Sherry series, aged for five years in an Oloroso Sherry Cask.
