Description
A Highland malt distillery that is currently part of the Scotch whisky holdings of the Distell Group. It is housed within a former mill that was built in 1785, and was converted into a distillery by blending firm, Brodie Hepburn, between 1965 and 1966. This unique, rare, bottling of Deanston was originally distilled in 2004 and laid down in bourbon casks. After 8 years the amber gold spirit was then carefully transferred to specially selected Pedro Ximénez butts and returned to our vaulted warehouse on the banks of the River Teith. Here it was left to finish maturing for a further 2 years, taking on the influence and aromas of the dark, sweet sherry wood. The result is a truly exceptional limited edition single malt whisky that displays the distinctive honeyed notes of Deanston, but with added notes of fruit cake, raisins and chocolate that reward and delight.
