Description

Deanston started life as a cotton mill in 1785 but by the 1960s the mill closed and - formed by the ideas of whisky broker, Brodie Hepburn - it began producing single malt whisky in 1967. Rich, orangey, sweet with vanilla cream, glazed donut, golden waffles with powdered sugar, margarine, plum, raisin, cinnamon, pastry, peanut butter, Christmas cake, dried mixed fruits, and syrup. Malty with herbal and oaky notes, brown sugar, suede, and coffee.
Palate
Plum, soft, raisin, chocolate, caramel, and syrupy sweetness. Cinnamon spice, toffee, vanilla oak, sweet, lavender, and oak. Coffee and herbal bitterness. Maltiness, hay, and toast.
Finish
Sweet oaky and spicy, medium long with notes of cinnamon, Christmas cake, plum, chocolate, syrup, nut, honey, beeswax, and hints of salt.
