Description
John Dewar & Sons is a subsidiary of Bacardi and manages its Scotch whisky portfolio. The company was acquired from Diageo in 1998. Dewar's 12 Year Old Ancestor is known for its 'double aging' process, where the blended whisky undergoes an additional six months of marrying in oak casks after initial maturation and blending. The heart of the malt component in Dewar's blends comes from the Aberfeldy distillery.
