Description
John Dewar & Sons is a subsidiary of historic rum producers and multinational drinks company, Bacardi, and is tasked with managing its Scotch whisky portfolio. The company was acquired from Diageo in 1998 and was merged with Bacardi's William Lawson Distillers. John Dewar & Sons continues to market both its own and the William Lawson brands. Dewar's 12 Year Old Ancestor is a blended Scotch whisky crafted from over 40 malt and grain whiskies, with the heart of the malt component hailing from Aberfeldy distillery. It undergoes a signature 'double aging' process, where after blending, it spends an additional 6 months in oak casks to marry the blend together for enhanced smoothness.
