Description

John Dewar & Sons is a subsidiary of historic rum producers and multinational drinks company, Bacardi, and is tasked with managing its Scotch whisky portfolio. The company was acquired from Diageo in 1998 and was merged with Bacardi's William Lawson Distillers. John Dewar & Sons continues to market both its own and the William Lawson brands. Dewar's Signature is an ultra-premium blended Scotch whisky, introduced as Dewar's entry into this category. It is crafted from rare, aged single malts and grain whiskies from across Scotland, and undergoes a 'double barrel aging' or 'secondary aging' process in oak casks to marry the flavors and enhance smoothness and complexity.

Nose
Sweet, fruity, and mellow with hints of honey, vanilla, rich toffee, and caramel. Notes of fruit cake, nuts, leather, and toasty oak are present, along with faint traces of peat and cigar smoke.
Palate
Honeyed sweet barley and buttery vanilla with a creamy, full-bodied texture. Flavors of toffee, ripe fruit, and caramel are balanced by a subtle smokiness and oak.
Finish
Long, smooth, and refined with lingering notes of oaky spice, dry vanilla, and honeyed malt, often with a slightly dry and toasty character.
