Description

Discover Drumshanbo Galanta, the first single malt Irish whiskey distilled in Connacht, Ireland's western province, in over 107 years. This triple distilled single malt, whose name translates to “Bravery” and “Excellence,” is distilled by Brian Taft from 100 percent Irish malted barley. It is aged in specially selected Kentucky ex-bourbon barrels and the finest Marsala wine casks. This 2021 release marks the first edition in their Rare & Exclusive Collection.

Nose
Aromas of caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, and oaky vanilla, with notes of vanilla, honey, warm spices, orchard fruits (apricot, peach, plum), and roasted almonds. Hints of apple chips, pear drops, and sandalwood are also present, alongside honeycomb, vanilla sponge, lemon meringue pie, amaretti cookies, and white pepper.
Palate
A delicious balance of honey, sweet apples, peppery spice, and oak, with a thinner mouthfeel than expected. Flavors include vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate, walnut, toffee, apple, plum, candied ginger, waxy citrus peels, mocha, and caramelised peanuts. Waves of sweet lemon ease into baked fruits, ripe apricot, and sponge fingers soaked in orange liqueur.
Finish
An elegant lingering finish that dances between pot-spice and sweetness, with notes of cassia, flapjacks, chocolate-chip cookies, gentle spice, and Refreshers candy.
