Description
A former grain distillery built by Hiram Walker & Sons in 1938, Dumbarton was notable for its use of stainless steel rather than copper column stills and provided fillings for the Ballantine's brand. The distillery was mothballed in 1985 and demolished in 2002. This 45-year-old single grain whisky was distilled in 1975 and bottled in 2020 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Private Collection series. It was drawn from a single refill sherry hogshead, yielding only 93 bottles.
