Description

A heavily peated version of Edradour, this Ballechin has been aged for 14 years in Grand Arôme rum barrels (Savanna) before being bottled at its natural strength. With a beautiful golden colour, this single malt has a smoky and fruity profile where the influence of rum (exotic fruits, vanilla) blends brilliantly with the smoky notes of whisky.

Overripe pineapple, pear juice, tinned pineapple in syrup, grapefruit rind, apricot marmalade, glacier cherries, pineapple rock, log burning stove, pineapple fritters, wine gums, with a touch of spirity tartness and bright, funky fruit.
Palate
A fruit-bomb of tinned tropical fruit salad, guava, juicy fruit chewing gum, pomelo, pineapple, overripe mango, and mechanics garage notes. Intense at full strength, water brings out maltiness, apricot thumbprint cookies, pineapple upside down cake, and subtle honeydew melon.
Finish
Fresh and juicy, with honeydew melons, tinned fruit in syrup (pineapples and pears foremost), and log burning stove notes.
