Description

Ballechin is a heavily peated whisky from the Edradour distillery. The original Ballechin brand was in production between 1810 and 1927. It was reintroduced by Andrew Symington after Signatory Vintage took over the distillery in 2002. Ballechin 15 Years Old SFTC Madeira Cask Matured 2007-2022 is a limited-edition release, bottled as part of Edradour's popular Straight From The Cask series. The single malt was drawn from three Madeira casks filled in May 2007, and bottled in October 2022 at a cask strength of 57.5%. One of 1258 bottles.

Nose
strong aromas of ripe dark berries, plus plums and raisins - light peat smoke above all.
Palate
mouth-filling and complex - again the plums and raisins, plus cream pudding and slight hints of heather - above all the peat smoke.
Finish
long finish - fruit, peat and old leather are present - above all spicy tones.
