Description

A small (once Scotland's smallest) distillery in Perthshire that began production in 1837. It is today owned by the independent bottler-turned-distiller, Signatory Vintage, who have placed a renewed focus on its single malt brands, introducing the heavily peated Ballechin in 2006.

Nose
soft toffee fudge and light chocolate, followed by slightly spicy aromas of fresh garden herbs - in the background a little malt and oak.
Palate
again the pleasant toffee sweetness and the chocolate, now notes mature, red fruits, red marmalade and cane sugar.
Finish
long and pleasantly sweet - after a while spicy with a slight ginger note.
