Description

Elements of Islay Cask Edit is part of the new Elements of Islay trilogy by Oliver Chilton, master blender at Elixir Distillers. The rich and smoky single malts from the south coast of Islay are blended with a fresher and fruitier style from the north. The Cask Edit expression is a blend of three types of casks: refill, bourbon, and sherry, coming together to offer a tasting experience that is both rich and smoky. This release was bottled in 2022 at 46%. It is an ongoing release and a solid entry point to the Elements of Islay range.

Nose
freshly brewed coffee with hot milk, roasted almonds with white chocolate pralines behind it - all over with light peat smoke and a basket of fresh fruit.
Palate
sweet with mineral notes - vanilla and spicy wood, with notes of freshly baked croissants with butter, slightly fruity and again the coffee.
Finish
slightly smoky and sweet on the finish - again the fresh fruit basket.
