The first distillations took place in 2006 under the guiding hand of the now retired Iain Henderson and everything from barley to bottle is done by hand at the first English whisky distillery in 100 years. In 2013, the English Whisky Company introduced a new series called The Black Range to develop a more consistent product: within this range are two expressions including Classic and Peated - late ... This stunning and exceptionally rare English single malt whisky was laid down at St. George's Distillery and bottled as The English Whisky Company's Founders Private Cellar release on the 9th May 2011. Drawn from Bourbon cask number 0005 at a natural strength 61.2% ABV, from the distillery founder James Nelstrop's private stash. This was the first five year old released by the distillery.
