Description

Filey Bay Double Oak #2 is an English Single Malt Whisky from the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, known for its 'field to bottle' philosophy using 100% homegrown Yorkshire barley. This special release marries two distillate styles and is matured in a unique combination of ex-Bourbon and Virgin Oak casks, with some first-fill ex-bourbon casks re-racked into virgin oak. It is bottled at 46% ABV, is non-chill filtered, and was released in November 2022 as a limited run of 2000 bottles.

Bourbony sweet corn, vanilla, grippy tannins, toast, subtle lemon, apricot, barley, sweet spice, banana fritters, buttered tea cakes, clotted cream, floral malt with toffee drizzles.
Palate
Vanilla, grippy new oak gingery tannins, creamy toffee, sweet corn, subtly citric and mineral, hints of barley, sweet tropical dried fruits, buttery barley, soft creamy oaken vanilla, toasted oak, cinnamon, pineapple, melon, papaya.
Finish
Good length with salt and mineral notes battling vanilla and spice, easy going with extra vanilla cream, cough drops, mega tasty stone fruits, medium length with spicy vanilla pods and black pepper.
