Nose
Dense and closed up at first, but time brings brown sugar, grapes, and some old polished oak. Savory elements arrive - peppered steak, and it's earthy, too. Toffee, chocolate fudge cake, coffee creams, and butterscotch. Pancakes with golden syrup, real wax honeycomb and bruised strawberries.
Palate
The thickness of the mouthfeel is medium; it's quite a fruity palate, purple fruits specifically. Fruitcake and a warm cinnamon spice; it's rich and pleasant, with decent texture. Full and mouthcoating. Black forest gateau: black cherry, dark chocolate, cream, kirsch and sponge. Then comes lemon drizzle cake, zingy and sweet. A nuttiness builds, akin to peanut brittle. Then sultanas and fruit cake with marzipan icing.
Finish
Medium-long, warming and oily. A hint of salt adding a coastal element, some fruit like white grape, and a sweetness from brown sugar. Long, the nuttiness shows a hint of mushroom before receding on chocolate-dipped blackcurrants.
