Description

A brand of Japanese whiskies produced at the Mt. Fuji distillery by the Kirin Brewery Company. It was introduced domestically in 2020 and the distillery's new flagship label, and rolled out globally the following year. Its range include single grain and single blends. A Japanese whisky distillery and one of the largest in the world. It was established in 1973 as Fuji Gotemba by the Kirin-Seagram partnership. The 'Distiller's Select' is a limited release where distillery staff created the vatting.

Nose
Peppery and still quite new make-y, floral car fragrance with grain and char coming on. Malt and apples, mild and crisp, with hints of camphor, vanilla and white chocolate.
Palate
Somewhat new make spirit orientated, but settles down for notes of lemon with brown sugar, chocolate dust and Italian herbs. Full bodied and quite sweet, with fruity sweetness matched with oaky spiciness and pepper.
Finish
Rounded and gentle with some dried fruits. Medium long finish, less spicy, with fruity sweetness, rich caramel sauce, maple syrup and honey.
