Description

The oldest legally operating bourbon distillery in the US state of Texas, founded in 2006 by Dan Garrison. It was originally known as Lone Star prior to a legal dispute with Busch Brewing, changing its name in 2008. It produces a range of small batch, single barrel and cask-finished whiskies. This particular release, the 2017 Cowboy Bourbon, is a limited production, uncut and unfiltered cask-strength bourbon.

Ample oak and fresh leather, complimented with caramel, earthy aromas, and very light chocolate. Ground cloves, sweet pipe tobacco, full-grain leather, fresh-baked banana nut bread, wildflower honey, and sparkling plum soda. [1, 7, 16]
Palate
Creamy/oily mouthfeel, big, bold, and packs a punch with oak and new leather. Notes of caramel, campfire smoke, Milk Duds, licorice, chocolate pie, S'mores on toasted cinnamon graham crackers, scorched honey, sweet molasses, deep caramel, dark chocolate, and cinnamon spice. [1, 7, 14, 16]
Finish
Strong and long with white pepper, tobacco leaves, tawny port, toffee, pecans, chocolate fudge, and lingering chocolate and cinnamon spices. [1, 7, 20, 24]
