Description

Named after the company that operated out of Dundashill distillery in the early 1800s, the Glasgow Distillery Company was set up by Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall in 2013 and began producing Makar Gin in the early stages. Having laid down the first casks in March 2015, the Glasgow Distillery Co., hoping to welcome the new era of distilling in Glasgow, were able to proudly release their first single malt. This Glasgow 1770 Calvados Cask Finish is the first release of a Calvados finished single malt from the Glasgow distillery, part of their Small Batch Series. It was filled into just 270 bottles at 58.7% ABV on 20 June 2023. The spirit was initially filled on 23 May 2017 into a first-fill bourbon cask before being laid to rest for two years and five months in a Calvados French brandy cask.
