Description
Glen Albyn was one of three malt whisky distilleries that comprised the lost distilling industry of Inverness in Scotland's Highland region. Founded in 1846 by James Sutherland, the distillery drew water directly from Loch Ness. It was acquired by DCL in 1972 and subsequently closed in 1983, with the distillery demolished a few years later to build a supermarket. This particular bottling is a 12-year-old single malt, distilled in 1980 and bottled in 1993.
