Description
Most distilleries today bottle their own single malts, but back in the 20th century it was common for distilleries to team up with independent bottlers to produce the first semi-official bottlings. One of the most well-known independent bottlers is Gordon & MacPhail, who have been working together with the majority of Scottish distilleries since 1895 and have built up an extensive collection of impressively aged casks over the years. The Speyside distillery Glen Grant was one of the bottler's earliest clients. As the distillery itself tends to put out younger malts, most of the older expressions come to us through Gordon & MacPhail. Glen Grant 40 Years Old Gordon & Macphail was bottled in 2014 from a single refill American hogshead.
