Nose
Richly malty, with underlying sweetness of fresh dates and sugared almonds. Attractively barley based and sweet with suggestions of maple syrup and summer fruit. Immediately sweet, golden syrup, brown sugar with underlying creamy malt.
Palate
Confectioner's sugar dusted over poached pear, a slight hint of vanilla-y biscuits and some dark rum-like heat. Sweet, round and full of chewy cereal flavours and interesting spices tempered with a sprinkle of late salt. Baked apples with gentle spices, lashings of custard cream and more malted barley.
Finish
Still packed with fruit. Some peppery spice. Rolls all the characteristics into one warming melange. Baked biscuits, dried apricot, and a sweet, lingering oakiness.
