Description

Aged for a quarter of a century, Glen Scotia 25 Year Old was drawn from various carefully selected casks before being combined in bourbon casks. This 48.8% ABV dram is quite earthy on the nose with notes of oak and some coastal notes. The palate is quite fruity, with orange and apple with some more coastal notes. The finish is sweet with vanilla and stem ginger. This expression was the winner of Best in Show at the prestigious 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It was matured in American oak barrels and married in first-fill bourbon casks before bottling.

Bracing Atlantic breeze gives strong maritime influence, with leathery notes, earthy oak, subtle vanilla, bright fruity notes (gooseberries), crushed peppercorns, straw, and hints of sunflower oil. Sweet vanilla and clove-studded oranges are also present.
Palate
Oily with coastal air, red apple, tangy orange peel, zesty orange, vanilla syrup, caramel sweetness, delicate hints of chalk and antiseptics, ground ginger, and sea salt.
Finish
Long lingering sea salt with a spicy note of ground ginger, balancing between sweet vanilla, ginger, and mentholated oak.
