Nose
At first a little musty, with some smoked fish, kind of like one of those old bait shops. This clears up after a little bit of time in the glass and a lovely sulphury sherry note takes over. Smoked fish is still present, but in the background. Cut slate. Wet stones in the sun. Some herbal spice notes, sharp parsley, cloves (also clove cigarettes) and fennel.
Palate
Sulphur. not sulphury sherry, just sulphur, so much sulphur. Under that there's some fruit leather, blood oranges and ruby grapefuit. Light pepper. Some nutty wood. Caramelised pecans.
Finish
Long. More sulphur. Very spicy, woodspice and a little paprika. Waxy fruits and bitter wood.
