Description

This GlenAllachie 1989 29 Year Old Single Cask #100073 is part of the inaugural single cask releases from the distillery under the stewardship of Master Distiller Billy Walker. Distilled in June 1989 and bottled in October 2018, this Speyside single malt was matured for 29 years in a single Oloroso Sherry Puncheon. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 60.0% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and of natural colour, with an outturn of 525 bottles. This UK exclusive release showcases the rich, fruit-forward character developed through extended sherry maturation.

Nose
Rich dark chocolate and pear tart tatin, with hints of lightly charred oak, raisin syrup, dark honey, orange zest, walnut shell, cocoa nibs, and antique oak polish.
Palate
Extremely rich and balanced, with sponge cake drenched in honey, buttery biscuits, fig jam, toffee apple, sweet pipe-tobacco, clove-spiced chocolate, molasses, and GlenAllachie's underlying malt sweetness.
Finish
Lingering, with chocolate orange, beeswax, black pepper, sherry-soaked fruitcake, mellow oak tannins, and a final whisper of sweet malt and nutmeg.
