Description

This is a 25-year-old single malt whisky from the Glenburgie distillery, independently bottled by Wm Cadenhead's. It was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2017 as part of Cadenhead's 175th Anniversary celebration. Wm Cadenhead's is the oldest independent bottler in Scotland, known for bottling spirits in their natural state. This particular release was matured in a single hogshead and was part of a series of 10 single cask bottles released for the anniversary.

Nose
Lots of lemon, then a hint of strawberry, overripe honey dew, kiwi, a little table salt, and there's some funkiness underlying it all. It's like a very odd fruit salad but it works well.
Palate
Lemon hits the palate first followed by melon, but it's overripe cantaloupe rather than the honey dew that was indicated by the nose. Immediately following the fruit are malted milk balls and sweet tea.
Finish
The fruit fades and the milk chocolate/malted milk ball note hangs around for quite a while.
