Description

A glorious Glenburgie single malt, bottled up with a stylish old school label, harking back to designs of days gone by – because this is part of Gordon & MacPhail's indie Distillery Labels series! At 21 years old, it's a rich little sipper, with plenty of buttery malt and oaken fruit.

Nose
Malt milkshake with a touch of roasted coffee and creamy vanilla pod. Red delicious apple, grass, caramel, unripe strawberry, and star anise. Honey, peaches, lemongrass, elderflower, and vanilla. Brown sugar covered stewed raisins mingle with hints of roasted hazelnuts. Delicate floral aromas are complemented by sweet vanilla and freshly cut dry hay.
Palate
Fragrant fruitcake spice, toasted pecans, buttery biscuits with leathery oak lingering beneath. Candied apple, fresh-cut grass, lemon tart, and stewed stone fruit. Honey, peaches, lemongrass, elderflower, and vanilla. Full and fruity; stewed apple, cinnamon, and clove flavours come to the fore initially. Ripe summer berries emerge and combine with fresh mint highlights and refined toasted malt undertones.
Finish
Medium; sweet icing sugar, baked apple. Oak char and cinnamon pick up, with prickles of ginger and nutmeg, softened by creamy barley and earthen oak. Medium-length, fragrant and getting sweeter. Thick caramel, honey, sandalwood, chocolate milk, sour rope candy, mango, and cinnamon-dusted baked apples. Floral notes of dandelions and marigolds. Lovely warmth.
