They sit alongside barley sweets and crème brûlée at first, then vanilla bean and stone fruit, so the sweetness has something to play against. Cinnamon and clove bring spice into that mix, while the finish pairs oaky spice with peaches. I like the way the fruit changes from citrus to stone fruit and peaches rather than repeating one note throughout. Citrus is a particular draw for me, and here it has room beside the sweeter flavours. The spice and oak matter too, though; anyone looking mainly for fruit may find those just as prominent in the overall character.
The appeal here is the movement from barley sweets and crème brûlée toward citrus, stone fruit, and clove. That gives the sweeter notes a clear counterpoint rather than letting them dominate.
