Description

This GlenDronach 10 Year Old Single Cask #1988 is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2013 as part of Batch 8. It was matured for 10 years in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon. This release is one of 664 individually numbered bottles and was distilled just six weeks after the distillery reopened after a six-year hiatus.

Nose
Banana skins, floury, raspberry jelly, pineapple, hazelnut chocolate, light sulphur notes, rum, new book aroma. With water, fruit notes are more candied, like cognac.
Palate
Buttery, tobacco, tea, dried fruit, chocolate, gritty earth feel. With water, Ferrero Rochers, buttery, slight earthy flavor. Red chilli bursts, treacle-covered ripe autumn fruits, fresh mint, toasted nuts.
Finish
Book aroma, sherried oranges, some smoke, confected fruit. With water, more noticeable smoke, confected fruit and spices. Lingering sweet prunes/raisins, dark fruit leather, espresso crema, dark chocolate covered raisins.
