Nose
Heady and intensely aromatic with powerful complexity. Brandy snaps, fruitcake, orange marmalade, amontillado, cherry cake, vanilla cream, dark rum, Christmas cake, cinnamon, dark stone fruits, stewed plums, cherries, raisins, nuts, red fruits, Oloroso sherry, caramel, and beautiful sweetness. [3, 4, 5]
Palate
Generous and bold taste of fruitcake, loaded with cherry, date and vine fruit. Lingering symphony of Oloroso sherry, brandy and Armagnac. Thick, viscous mouthfeel with confit figs, raisins, dark fruits, ginger spice, salted toffee, stewed cherries and plums, fruit cake, dried pluots, caramel, and antique furniture. [4, 5]
Finish
Perfect, long lasting finish. Ginger from the palate continues, prominent at first, then a long fade, warming. More plums, raisins, dark chocolate, and old leather. [3, 4, 5]
