Nose
Cherry reduction, fresh figs, almonds, graham cracker, some mild glue, sultanas, dark Mexican mole sauce, chewing tobacco leaf, and a fantastic musty cellar note. A bit of cacao, a bit of subtle coal dust. Grilled fresh prunes, a touch of meat and metal, walnut wine. With water: a bit of a bramble note, cacao, figs, chocolate cake, fig cake, chocolate toffee.
Palate
Soft, velvety, coating, a little nutty, dry, red fruits, cherries, Ribena, plums. Beautiful with water, a bit more walnut wine, a bit less fruit, a bit of deep coffee.
Finish
Orange, peel, dried and sugared. Walnuts, cherry syrup. With water, smoother, oily, less orange and red fruit, more chocolate.
