- Elegant old style of sherry, saline, nutty, damp earthy notes, bitter chocolate, old Armagnac, rancio, lemon rind, hot espresso, black pepper, dark fruits, marzipan-wrapped prunes, damson compote, earthy black teas. Very dark fruity start, lots of dried fruits, plums, raisins, spicy, light oak notes, orange peel, slight sweetness, nutty, dark berries, chocolate.
- Palate
- Hefty spiciness, woody mulling spices, treacle, black pepper, hot paprika, roast chestnuts, camphor, new leather, lime cordial, charcoal, black cherry, truffled meats, salty, resinous rancio. Oily sweetness, sherry shines through, ashen edge, sulphur, gentle tart sourness with strawberry white chocolate, meaty/gamey. Intense dark fruity start, lots of dried fruits, sweet, plums, raisins, caramel, chocolate, spicy, slightly wet, musty wood, nutty, creamy, furniture polish, slightly bitter.
- Finish
- Long, oily, mouth-coating, sweetness and light bitterness alternate, tobacco & sulphur linger. Intense sherry notes, old wood, thick, slightly bitter, dark, dried fruits, sour cherries.
