Nose
Old, heavy, subtle sherry aromas, syrupy dark, ripe fruits, overripe dark cherries, plums preserved in alcohol, rum cake, baked apple, a fine nuttiness, roasted aromas like burnt almonds, subtle and extremely complex.
Palate
Warming-fiery, dry, full, a deep fruitiness, fruits preserved in alcohol, very strong wood aromas, a hint of espresso, mouth-filling, heavy and incredibly complex. With water, the deep red fruit aromas, a subtle earthiness and the espresso unfold a little more, the oak increasingly recedes; the fruitiness becomes sweeter and caresses the palate.
Finish
Extremely long, heavy and mouth-filling, candied orange peel, very dry, full of oak and old wood, dominant and demanding. A dark, beautiful Single Malt - at 12 years an impressive cask.
