Description

This 20-year-old Glendronach whisky, distilled in September 1994, was initially matured in full-size sherry casks before undergoing final maturation in five smaller Pedro Ximenez Sherry Octaves. Octave casks, approximately one-eighth the size of a sherry butt, allow for increased interaction between the wood and spirit, imparting greater depth of flavor and aroma. This limited release consists of just 371 bottles, presented at 48% ABV.

An intense concentration of chocolate fondant, candied ginger and glacé cherries, balanced with black pepper, rich oak spices, and a touch of liquorice. Aromatic with raspberry ganache, fig liqueur, eucalyptus, redcurrant jam, and herbal notes.
Palate
Full-bodied sherry characteristics with dark molasses, enriched Christmas cake, sour plum syrup, and cigar box spices. Notes of dark espresso, nutty dryness, raisins, figs, cherries, oak juice, ginger, green tea, sappy wood, mint, leather, and tobacco.
Finish
A rare combination of heavyweight sherry Octave maturation and robust Highland whisky characteristics, capturing dark depths to delicate spice. Long, with hints of grapefruit, herbal tea, tobacco, and mint.
