Description

A historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by United Distillers and then Diageo between 1995 and 2005. As with the Flora & Fauna series, they were often from lesser-seen single malt distilleries. Nose
Rich treacle, pomelo, espresso (creamy with some tropical fruit notes), smoked salmon, apple orchard. Water brings out smoke and brine/clean fish notes, then floral, apple, wood, and farmy notes.
Palate
Heather honey, toasted oak, honeycomb, red plum, caramel cream, mushroom. Floral and sweet, with strong toast and oak notes, more honey, and a strong red fruit flavour. Has a distinct earthy note.
Finish
Dandelion, passionfruit, hot spiced apple sauce on vanilla ice cream. Also notes of Rockets (candy in Canada), limoncello, and caramel M&Ms. A strong, home-y flavour with water, building with blends of bitter and sweet notes.
