Description

Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit. This is an 8-year-old expression from Glenfarclas's legendary 105 series, bottled in the 1970s, and matured in sherry casks.

Nose
Sherried fruits alongside chocolate, honey and brown sugar. A slight malty note.
Palate
Oily texture, traditional sherry influence combines with lots of chocolate sweetness before giving way to pepper and oak.
Finish
Long, and slightly drying. Sherried fruits linger, with a mix of spicy flavours, pepper, oak, and clove.
