Description

Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength is a classic Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, renowned for being one of the first commercial cask strength whiskies, initially developed in 1968 by George S. Grant. Produced by the family-owned Glenfarclas Distillery, it is made from 100% malted barley and matured in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, often Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at a robust 60% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has natural color. It is a core expression of the distillery, known for its rich, sherried profile and powerful character.

Nose
Rich sherry notes with dark fruits like raisins, plums, and figs, often accompanied by apples, pears, and dark toffee or caramel. Hints of honey, vanilla, nuts (almond, hazelnut, walnut), and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg are also present.
Palate
Full-bodied and intense, with a powerful sherry influence, often described as a 'sherry bomb.' Flavors include dried fruits, orange peel, butterscotch, and rich spices (pepper, ginger, clove). Oak notes are prominent, sometimes with a slight bitterness or earthiness.
Finish
Long, warming, and spicy, with lingering notes of sherry, dark chocolate, cocoa, and dried fruits. A nutty and peppery character often persists.
