This limited release was produced to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Cheltenham Festival Cross Country Steeplechase, which the distillery has sponsored since 2009. Nose
Complex and full, with heather honey, sweet vanilla fudge and dark fruit – raisins and plums. Light butterscotch, red berries, caramel sweetness, and a nutty character, with hints of orange juice, fresh ginger, yellow plums, vanilla cake and cinnamon.
Palate
Rich and oily texture, with layers of marzipan, fruity sherry and spicy cinnamon and ginger. Full-bodied with a super balance of sherried sweetness, malty tones, and earthy peaty flavours. Notes of plum, redcurrant, raisins, dates, fruit and nut chocolate with orange peel, malty oranges, stewed fruits, mint, mild baking spices, walnuts, and caramel.
Finish
Lingering with brown-sugar sweetness and fruit. Delectable, smoky-sweet, medium to long. Red fruit moves into crumbly raisin fudge, with red berries lingering. Notes of oranges, spices, and a hint of mocha.
