Nose
A lovely interplay of mineral, oak, and dried fruit (figs, dates), with notes of linseed oil, marzipan pastries, clove, ginger, and yeasty wine. Underlying fresh grassy and crisp fruit notes, like an orchard with fallen apples. Intense sherry notes with sweet honey and floral aromas.
Palate
Dry spicy oak, roasted walnuts, cocoa, dried apricot, dates, honey, and black pepper. Complex and round with fruits like raisins, plums, and sultanas. A hint of dark chocolate, nuts, and oak, well-integrated and full-bodied.
Finish
Astringent oak tannins, woody spices, a little earthiness, and a return of cocoa and dried fruits, leaning towards raisins. Long-lasting.
