Description
Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit. This Glenfarclas 1996 The Famous Scots Edition No. 26 - Rob Roy MacGregor is a rare, limited bottling, released exclusively for the German market. Distilled in 1996 and matured for 28 years in Oloroso sherry casks, it was bottled in 2024 at 46% ABV. This 26th edition in The Famous Scots collection is inspired by the Scottish clan leader and outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor (1671-1734), known as the 'Scottish Robin Hood'. It is non-chill filtered and limited to 1,800 individually numbered bottles.
