Description

The Glenfarclas 50 Year Old Collector Series III is the third installment in the Family Collector Series, representing George Grant (1874-1949), the third generation of the Grant family. This limited edition single malt Scotch whisky was bottled on 24th April 2015, after maturing for 50 years in oak casks. Only 937 bottles were released worldwide, presented in a luxury black leather case. It embodies the rich Speyside character with a harmonious marriage of fruit, oak, and time, showcasing the Grant family's dedication to producing exceptional whisky.

Nose
A symphony of dried fruits, honey, and subtle spices. Raisins, figs, and apricots dance with hints of vanilla and oak. Fresh sweet sherry with crème caramel and butterscotch notes, alongside dense dark chocolate, cigar box, and old oak furniture with leather and Cognac-like rancio.
Palate
Velvety texture with rich toffee, dark chocolate, and nuttiness mingling with oak. Assertive spiciness, treacle toffee, chocolate ice-cream, and sherry-soaked raisins. Christmas Cake elements, tobacco, chocolate orange brownies, coffee beans, chewy dried fruit, with sparks of cinnamon and black pepper.
Finish
A lingering embrace with echoes of dried fruits and soft oakiness. A wonderful balance of sherry, spiced fruits, and cinnamon, with an everlasting sweetness. Long finish boasting thick notes of Sherry and butterscotch, developing Seville orange marmalade and ginger.
