Description

Chorlton Whisky is a small independent bottling company working out of Chorlton in Cheshire and increasing its releases year on year with large online and in-store retailers stocking their bottles. The releases are bottled at natural strength from a single cask with no colouring or chill-filtering and are recognisable by the striking artwork on their labels. This is a 17-year-old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, believed to be Glenfarclas, matured in an Oloroso Hogshead and bottled at 55.8% ABV. Only 321 bottles were produced.

Nose
The nose has chocolate ganache, walnut cake, chestnuts roasting over coals, old metal toolboxes, oranges, rum and a drop of Worcestershire sauce.
Palate
The palate is huge – with Dundee cake, ristretto, parsley oil, black cherry, treacle toffee and chocolate orange. A little dilution makes the whisky surprisingly clean and fruity, with apple pie, orange oil, toffee pennies, hazelnuts and menthol popping up.
