Nose
Hints of sliced apples and vanilla cream, followed by notes of mint and aniseed. Over time, it becomes more herbaceous, with an intensifying smokiness. Waxy or porcelain-like notes also emerge, reminiscent of Clynelish, alongside black earth and moss. A very elegant restraint peat smell, wet grass or something similar, hay, wet earth, almost farmyard-like, vanilla, anis, plus undertones of malted barley.
Palate
Initial taste is of fruit, with light hints of ginger and cinnamon, before mint and cigar smoke return. Very rich, with a quite violent explosion of peat, which fairly quickly subdues and reveals layers of taste; hints of rubber and pears, vanilla, chocolate, molasses, bananas, and tar.
Finish
Medium length, with rubber and medicinal notes, a bit of spice, and chocolate appearing again.
