Description

One of the oldest distilleries within Speyside, and still in family hands since it was founded, the Glenfarclas Distillery is one of Speyside's independent whisky producers. The Grant family has been running Glenfarclas since 1860, producing an individual Speyside malt that many whisky enthusiasts number as one of their favourites. This is a 2000 vintage single malt whisky from The Family Casks series, matured in a sherry butt and bottled in 2022 at cask strength of 52.8% ABV. Only 621 bottles were produced. The Family Casks series is known for its single cask, vintage-dated single malts, bottled at cask strength and with natural colour, showcasing exceptional whiskies with rich sherry cask influence.

Full-bodied aromas. Delightful and refreshing. Smells of dried fruits and citrus fruits. Raisins penetrate and meet chocolate. Slight sharpness is present.
Palate
Extremely rich and very balanced in flavour. Creamy on the tongue. Tastes like plums and raisins. Nuts and dried fruit come through. Oak initiates the departure.
Finish
Quite delicate and smooth texture on the long finish. Complex with notes of sherry, nuts, plums and peppery spice.
