Description

Still in family hands since it was founded, the Glenfarclas Distillery is one of Speyside's independent whisky producers. The Grant family has been running Glenfarclas since 1860, producing an individual Speyside malt. This particular release is part of The Family Casks Collection, which represents some of the most exclusive and collectible single malt Scotch whiskies from the renowned Speyside distillery. These rare casks are hand-selected, limited in number, and come from single cask bottlings, offering unique flavor profiles and exceptional depth. Each expression reflects Glenfarclas' traditional craftsmanship, with rich, full-bodied flavors, including notes of sherry, oak, dried fruits, and spices.

Nose
A concentrated and syrupy fruitiness with notes of molten boiled sweets, juicy fruit chewing gum, pineapple jelly, aged mead, cornflakes, milk bottle sweets, icing sugar, and lemon-infused olive oil. Also earthy mushroom notes, old wine cellar, chamomile, bergamot, plums, sultanas, apple crumble, and chocolate limes. Lighter and brighter with baked apples, custard, gooseberry tart, lemon balm, honeysuckle, wildflowers, pollens, green banana, wax, chopped dates, muesli, and sandalwood.
Palate
Superb texture and concentration, very syrupy and gently oily. Hints of pear eau de vie, creme de menthe, rum n raisin ice cream, raspberry jam, soft waxes, herbs, mulled wine, and chocolate-covered marzipan. Lots of glazed and crystallized fruits with nibbling peppery notes. Rich, honeyed oiliness with leaner, mineral aspects, heathery notes, camphor, tea tree oil, buttery toast, green fruity notes, and lemony touches.
Finish
Long, rather orangey and abundantly fruity. Citrus pith, olive oil, mint, apricot jam, and dried thyme. Good length, moving towards various teas like chamomile, mint, and green, with exotic dried fruits and wood spices.
